Access to Musicstax’s API is by application and is paid. You can find more information on the Pricing page. This is due to Musicstax’s services for storing tens of millions of songs costing thousands per month.

Welcome

Our API reference contains all the endpoints and specifications for each of our APIs endpoints. You can use the API reference to see how you can integrate into specific endpoints, and also what endpoints are available.reference

Authorization is done through an application ID which you will pass through when making requests to our API. You are not able to automatically generate these, instead - they are done after an API access request application. This is to allow us to help you integrate into our API, but also ensure the usage of Musicstax’s API is tenible.

Why does API access cost?

Musicstax’s API access costs due to it costing thousands of dollars per month to store the data which we hold. For example, we track the Spotify popularity score of tens of millions of songs and store the key, tempo and other musical analysis points for tens of millions of songs. The storage of this data is costly.

There is data which I want, but there isn’t an API endpoint for it

We are able to easily build out endpoints if we have the underlining data for it. If there is an endpoint or feature you want added, reach out to us via email.
